How to Complete a Paving Equipment Inspection

  1. Identify the machine. Record the equipment ID, operator, hour meter, project, work area, and inspection type before beginning the check.
  2. Complete a walkaround. Look for leaks, damaged guards, tire or track issues, loose hardware, fluid residue, material buildup, and other visible defects.
  3. Inspect machine-specific components. Check paver feed and screed systems, roller drums and water systems, milling drums and teeth, or other applicable production components.
  4. Check hydraulic and fluid systems. Review accessible hoses, fittings, tanks, cylinders, and visible fluid conditions in accordance with company and manufacturer procedures.
