Explore 31 SimplySub updates, including faster financial workflows, improved mobile invoicing, new construction checklists, and reporting fixes.

This release brings several improvements to financial workflows, mobile invoicing, job management, and reporting. You can move between financial tools more quickly, create common records with fewer steps, and provide customers with clearer estimates and invoices. We also added new resources and resolved several issues affecting billing, payments, and user setup.

New

  • Financial settings are now easier to manage. You can update the starting numbers used for estimates, invoices, and purchase orders from the new financial configuration tools. You can also create a default estimate acceptance message for outgoing estimates.
  • πŸ”₯ A new financial navigation menu helps you move between estimates, invoices, payments, and other financial tools with fewer steps.
  • πŸ”₯ Add unlimited internal notes and comments to estimates and invoices. This provides a convenient place to record collection attempts, follow-ups, and other related information.
  • πŸ”₯ Quick actions are now available from customer records. You can create a job, estimate, or invoice, or record a payment without leaving the customer’s record.
  • πŸ”₯  234 construction checklists are now available. These checklists cover common day-to-day needs across a variety of trades and are available at simplysub.com/checklists.
  • SimplySub is now on Google Business. You can follow the SimplySub profile there for additional company and product updates.
  • A new banner appears when you edit your own employee profile. This reminder helps prevent accidental changes when you may think you are viewing another employee’s account.
  • You can now request new integrations directly from the Integrations Marketplace. Use the new request option to tell us which connections would be most useful to your business.
  • πŸ”₯  Daily task reminder emails help keep upcoming work visible. These notifications highlight tasks approaching their due dates so important items are less likely to be missed.

Improved

  • Estimate invoice counts are now clickable. Selecting the invoice count from an estimate takes you to a filtered list of the invoices created from that estimate.
  • Customer invoice PDFs now clearly show whether an invoice is partially paid or paid in full.
  • Invoices created from estimates now carry over the estimate title, helping your team and customers more easily recognize related documents.
  • πŸ”₯ Estimate and invoice titles now appear on customer-facing PDFs for clearer identification when documents are downloaded or stored separately from their emails.
  • Draft invoices are now called pending invoices. This wording more closely matches terminology commonly used in accounting software.
  • πŸ”₯ Creating and editing estimates and invoices on mobile devices has been redesigned. The new small-screen experience makes it easier to manage line items and complete financial work from the field.
  • πŸ”₯  Create common records directly from job views. A new action menu provides faster access to create customers, tasks, estimates, and invoices or record payments.
  • Customer notes on estimates and invoices now support bold text and clickable links. This is useful for emphasizing important details or linking customers to financing, payment, or other resources.
  • Daily Log searches now include jobs with expenses recorded during the selected date range, in addition to jobs with notes, files, work, equipment, or other activity.
  • Job activity is now available while creating or editing an invoice. Open the job’s Daily Log to review work, notes, files, photos, labor, and other relevant details without leaving the invoice.
  • Estimate and invoice emails have an updated design. Company logos are displayed more consistently, giving customer communications a cleaner and more professional appearance.
  • The account setup experience has been refined. Company details, logo versions, and business colors can now be configured through a clearer setup screen.
  • The Payroll Summary report has improved print and PDF formatting for a cleaner, easier-to-read result.
  • Moving jobs between statuses is easier on mobile Progress views. Press and hold the lower-right corner of a job card to drag it more smoothly between positions and columns.
  • The Punch Log report has improved print and PDF formatting.
  • The Daily Log report has improved print and PDF formatting for a more streamlined layout.
  • Other additional performance and reliability improvements

Fixed

  • Progress invoices now include only the quantities that remain to be billed. Previously, some progress invoices could include the full original quantities again.
  • Pending invoices are now included in invoice counts and invoiced estimate totals, providing a more complete view of related financial activity.
  • New users with short first names can now be created successfully. The initial account setup process now handles password requirements correctly in these cases.
  • Voided payments no longer appear in payment totals in the rare situations where they were previously included.
  • Other minor bugs and defects
