SimplySub’s June 18 update adds connected Gmail sending, workspace switching, job deletion, expense improvements, and several usability fixes.

This release includes several updates designed to make everyday work in SimplySub faster and easier. Highlights include a special accouncement (at the bottom), sending emails through your connected Gmail account, managing multiple companies from one SimplySub experience, deleting jobs, and clearer job and expense workflows. We also made purchase order, reporting, and setup improvements to reduce friction across common tasks.

New

  • 🔥 Send emails through your connected Gmail account. You can now connect a Google Workspace Gmail account to SimplySub and send outbound emails through your own email address. This helps keep your brand front and center, improves email consistency, and keeps a record of sent messages in your Gmail sent folder. See it in action.
  • 🔥 Manage multiple companies from one SimplySub experience. Workspace Switching lets subcontractors who operate more than one company move between workspaces while keeping each company’s accounting, security, and operations separate. See it in action.
  • Delete jobs when needed. You can now delete a job directly from the job record, making it easier to clean up duplicates or remove jobs that should no longer appear in your workspace.
  • See job assignments in Progress view. Job tiles in Progress view now show who is assigned to each job when an assignment exists, giving teams more context without opening the job.
  • Create expense categories while adding an expense. The new expense screen now includes a quick-create option for expense categories, so you can add a category without leaving your workflow.

Improved

  • Expenses are easier to access from financials. You can now reach expense information directly from the financial dashboard, making job costing details faster to find.
  • The job record has been simplified. The dedicated expenses tab has been removed because expense information now lives in the Financials tab within the job record.
  • New users now start in Progress view by default. Progress view is now the default job view for new users. Users can still choose a different view if they prefer.
  • The new user setup screen is cleaner. The add new user screen has been streamlined to make creating new user accounts faster and easier.
  • New user first login is simpler. The default password process for newly created users has been simplified to reduce friction when users sign in for the first time.
  • Purchase order emails now keep your brand more prominent. The “sent from SimplySub” line has been removed from purchase order emails.

Fixed

  • Expense transaction reports now show more records per page. We resolved an issue where only five expense transaction records appeared at a time. The report now shows up to 1,000 records per page.
  • Vendor-facing purchase order notes now display correctly. We fixed a rare issue where public or vendor notes on purchase orders were not appearing as expected.
  • Long hauling material names are now handled correctly. We resolved an issue that affected some clients when adding hauling materials with longer names.
